The Lynchburg Lemonade: What is behind it?

Suits, cases, $13 M, judges… No, I am not talking about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s case. I am trying to tell the Lynchburg Lemonade’s origin story. It is loaded with drama and intrigue.

Our calendars show us some dates in the 1980s. A man, a bartender was making his cocktail, but he didn’t know at that time the sales representative of Jack Daniel’s distillery at his bar. The sales representative stole his recipe and start to promote it as a Jack Daniel’s cocktail and they gained really huge success.

The barman, Tony Mason, sued Jack Daniel’s to steal his trade secret in 1987. Mason wanted $13 M, but at the end of the case, Mason won but with no money, he was frustrated and angry, and the judge offered him $1 from pocket. Mason applied to Alabama Civil Appellate, he thought he could win, but he lost.

One day if you make this is a TV series or a movie, please mention me in the credits 🙂
